Dutchland loves up on the Broad Street Butchers!

On June 7th, the Dutchland Rollers were given the opportunity to play against the Philly Rollergirls‟ 3rd place team, the Broad Street Butchers, during their 2008 League Championship game at the Sportsplex in Feasterville. Dutchland fielded their All-Star squad, however, despite their best efforts, Dutchland quickly learned why Philly is ranked 9th in the nation. Dutchland‟s jammers faced difficulty getting through the pack as their own blockers were being tossed around by heavy hitting Butchers, Nina Knockout, Butterscotch Cripple, and Shenita Stretcher (to name a few). Butcher newcomers Anti-dote and Elle Viento showcased some fantastic runs through the pack. Dutchland rookies, Cole Slaughter and Irene Business, had a hard time getting through, but showed a fierce determination to pop back into the pack after every takedown. In the end, the Butchers overtook the Dutchland All-Stars 122-52.

Later that month, Dutchland decided to take another stab at the Butchers during the East Coast Derby Extravaganza on June 22nd. Dutchland tried a slightly different roster this time; however, the Butchers still proved superior, defeating Dutchland 72-9 during the 30 minute game.
