******Shock & Awe Brawl Recap******
On Saturday, June 2nd, 2007, the Dutchland Rollers held their 3rd bout of the season at Overlook Activities Center in Lancaster, PA. The Hex Offenders overtook the Barn Razors 88-80 leaving each team with a 1-1 record. The Hex Offenders took a small but lasting lead with Hex Jammer, White Thrash taking 4 points in the first jam of the game against Swoop DeVille, leaving it at 4-0. The lead continued with each team picking up points playing hard in the heat ending the first period 35-26. The second period started strong with Barn Razor, Twisted Scizzors matching Thrash's 3 points in jam 1. Despite the hard work of the Razor's blockers on the track, they just coudn't contain the powerful Offenders lead. The Hex Offenders obtained another 35 points during period 2 with the Barn Razors accumulating 31. Going into period 3, the Offenders had an impressive but close lead of 13 points over the Razors. Both teams went in swinging, the fast pack continued despite the 90 degree heat! The Razors were determined and came in hard in the first jam, Swoop DeVille getting 4 points to Spawna Skatin's 2. The Offenders weren't going to let that last long, gaining another 16 points this period. The Razors came back, earning 19 points, but it just wasn't enough to send the Offenders packing. The Offenders jammers, Spawna Skatin' (on loan from the Distel Finks), White Thrash, and Rum N. Choke did an amazing job gaining points for their team. Hex blockers, Fujiyama Mama (Captain), Laverne N. Surly (also on loan from the Finks), Penny Purgatory, Stompin' Lizzy Stanton, and Treasure Chest (Co-Captain), were key in holding the Razors down throughout. The Razors tried to keep a close game with jammers, Lucy Van Belt, Swoop DeVille (Captain), Torque Wench (Co-Captain), and Twisted Scizzors (Finks). Blockers, Bunny McBones, Haulin' Ash, Hillbilly Hellcat, Josie Cuervo, and Rachel Slur (Finks) did their best to stop the Offenders from repeating their crimes. Spawna Skatin' led the group with a total of 42 points through the game. She led the jammers earning an average of 3.2 points per jam! Lucy Van Belt shined as well, obtaining lead jammer status in 62% of her jams! White Thrash, Spawna Skatin, and Twisted Scizzors were tied for most points in a jam at 7 each. Both team played hard and and had a great time! Come check out the Rollers at their next bout on July 21st for their "Lu-Oww" at Overlook against the Coal City Rollers!!!
